I am a huge fan of Nanowrimo. As a project manager in my real life the mindset of setting goals and trying to obtain those goals appeal to my brain. When I fall behind I know exactly what I need to do to get back on track. It also provides a deadline and did what I needed for me to write my first novel. If you have any wish to write, I personally believe that Nanowrimo is a great place to start.
July brings forward another chance at a Nanowrimo in the form of a Camp. It is less serious than the November Nanowrimo but still gives you the goals. I normally do not take part in these as I’m usually knee deep in editing my book from November still. Regardless of this, I decided to try my hand at a July writing frenzy.
My goal was 30,000 words in 31 days. I did not achieve my goal, I reached 25,291 words in those days. Even though I failed, I am happy that I achieved 25k words and have a new story to work on called Eryn’s Tale: The Devourer. I can’t wait for people to read this one!
