‘Within the Ice’ First Draft Almost Complete

on

I started out in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) with an idea that had been brewing in my head for over 3 years.  This is my third time starting out trying to write this book and after two failed attempts I felt I really had where I wanted this story to go.  Writing 50,000 words in a month had always seemed absolutely impossible to me.  In the past the furthest I’d ever gotten was 20,000 words before I lost steam.  I am very pleased to announce that from November 1st through November 30th I managed to write 60,705 words.  My goals were to write a horror fantasy novel and every time I started prior it was nothing more than a weak fantasy with weak characters.  I’m hoping this time that I’ve managed to accomplish my goals of making a scary and fascinating fantasy.  I have reached approximately 68,000 words and I am guessing I will reach about 74,000 before the end.

So my goals for this weekend are to finish the first draft, print the entire thing out and start the revision process.  My ultimate goal is to have this publish in a February – March time frame.
